Who are we?

We are a well established company providing private midwifery services in the UK, Ireland and channel islands. Our service is led by professionals who understand you and your needs.

We pride ourselves on providing high quality, safe and effective care; tailor made to your individual needs and circumstances.

We have excellent clinical outcomes and robust quality assurance processes. Due to this, we are delighted to say that we have full professional indemnity insurance that meets the requirements of the health care regulators.

Our practice is based on a commitment to pregnancy and birth as normal life events; we are absolutely committed to recognising and respecting the rights and wishes of the individual woman and her family. Continuity of care and a woman’s right of choice is at the very heart of our professional ethos.

However, if the choices you make would put you, your baby or our midwives at unreasonable and avoidable risk, we may not be able to share your birth journey with you. This does not mean that we are unable to provide care for you if you have medical problems such as obstetric history or a previous caesarean section. In the vast majority of cases we can still offer to share this exciting journey with you. Please discuss any specific preferences with us as soon as possible, so we can work with you to try to find a solution you are happy with.

We have forged excellent working relationships with many hospitals, health and social care agencies. This ensures that each woman we care for is assured of the best plan of care for her and her baby whatever the circumstances.

Private Midwives

We have a strict recruitment process in line with our Care Quality Commission registration. We obtain professional references as well as references from women the midwife has cared for. We undertake robust professional checks to make sure that the people we send to you meet the highest professional standards. All of our midwives are registered and regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (for UK)or the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (for Ireland).

All of our midwives have many years experience, normally in busy hospitals. They have then chosen to change the way they work so they can offer individualised, personal care to a smaller case-load of women - sharing their journey in to motherhood each step of the way and helping them to achieve a positive birth experience.

We are committed to on-going professional development. All of our midwives undertake refresher training each year and the level that we require is higher than the minimum standard that many organisations adopt. We run training courses in conjunction with NHS Obstetricians for our own midwives and also NHS midwives and students.

All of our lead midwives are experienced, senior and highly skilled. Whilst we welcome enquiries from junior midwives and student midwives at the end of their training, your role within our organisation would be working alongside a senior midwife, to learn from her experience and expertise. Your involvement in care would only be with the woman’s full permission.

We take client feedback very seriously. Every woman we care for is contacted afterwards and asked for feedback about her care, and the midwife caring for her. We are delighted to say that we have excellent feedback and some lovely endearing comments from our clients who view their midwife as a professional friend of the family - see our testimonials section for further information
